My Story

Birth of ETHNIQS by Richa is the story of my journey from suppression to empowerment. Being from a middle class household with a humble upbringing, I was not supposed to be adventurous with things...clothes included. But exquisite clothing always fascinated me. Against my family's wish, I graduated in Fashion Designing and started designing. Models of the likes of Bipasha Basu, Jessei Randhawa, Annie Thomas, Shwetha Menon sashayed down the ramp wearing my creations. I was happy.

Then came a twist in my life. My husband didn't find my passion worth pursuing and after each show, my home was not what I wanted it to be. I shifted to education to make sure I was at home by the evening, But nothing changed. After two decades of endurance, I decided to call it quits.

I continued in education and even got elevated to the post of a VP in a reputed school in less than four years. But I realised I was suppressing my inner voice as I  worked sincerely for others' vision.

All this while, my passion for clothing never faded. I had grown up hearing that business is not in our blood, specially girls should opt for safe professions. Also experiences of deprivations led to a strong urge in me to break the glass ceiling and prove that a girl can succeed in business. This drove me to learn online and take a plunge.

So here's ETHNIQS by Richa, launched with a capsule collection of limited edition dupattas. My aim is not just to feel liberated myself, but to make every woman who wears my creations, feel aligned with her authentic self!

It's not just a brand; It's a becoming!
